November/December Reflection

My absolute favorite project in November and December was Scratch. I understood the program very well and was able to use it effectively. To be able to use a program like Scratch, I had to be very creative and innovative, to think of ways around obstacles. I also had to be able to problem solve and make decisions on what I was going to make, how I was going to make it, and to fix problems with it after it was created. Scratch had to do with technology operations and concepts very directly, because without knowledge of how to operate computers at a slightly more advanced level, this would have been impossible.

From this project I learned how to operate technology on a higher level. I learned how to make things move in response to something you do, or by itself. I am most proud of my Pong program, although it has some bugs, it is still quite fun and it was very complicated to make. I am very happy with my work for the reason that it makes me happy to use pong, and it was fun making it. This why my scratch project was my favorite of November and December, adn the rest of the year.

October Reflection

My favorite project from October was the Coffin Races flyer. The reason this was my favorite project because it allowed me to be creative. I was able to be creative because I did something without direct instructions on how it was to be done. I had to use my problem solving skills to be able to make the words appear on a color background page. I also had to use my technology operations and concepts skills to be able to operate Microsoft Word quickly and effectively. The idea of the project was to get a flyer for the coffin races that would be used for advertising, in this way a participated in a collaborative effort toward the same goal.

From this project I learned a few things. One of these was how to make borders around the page, and I increased my ability to use Microsoft Word efficiently. I'm proud of how my flyer looked. It was very colorful and seemed to catch the eye. I am happy with my work because i spent a long time on it and made it as good as possible in the time alloted.

August September Reflection

My favorite project during August and September was Google Sketchup. It had to do with creativity because I did something different and had to be creative to make my own design. It also had to do with critical thinking because i had to think of different ways to do things if one didn't work. I had to know how to use technology to operate the program, and therefore it is related to technology operations and concepts. I had to problem solve because I had to think about new ways of doing something.

In the Google Sketchup unit I learned how to make a 3D image that looked good from all sides. This is useful if I ever decide to become a designer and i can make a prototype on a computer. I am proud that I made a 3D image of something that I could not see as I was creating it. I am happy with my work because i did a good job on the project. This is why I chose to use my Google Sketchup project for this assignment.

Happy People

It seems that success would cause happiness, right? Yes, but this article says that happiness also cause success. It is also incredible that happiness can cause good health. For example: lower blood pressure and less cortisol in their saliva. Some people may find it surprising that happiness does not directly reflect one's economic class, gender or age. Instead, it is associated with a more positive outlook on life. Happy people are generally more trusting, loving, and have stronger romantic, and social relationships.
